These terms set out our legal obligations to each other. They apply to your use of Quillo's services. By using Quillo, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.
We're Quillo — a food technology application built to help people waste less food and cook more confidently from what they already have.
The app is developed and operated by Reisen AI Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.
By using Quillo, you confirm that you are at least 13 years old and meet the minimum age required by the laws in your country. Quillo is not designed for or directed at children under 13.
If you are between 13 and 15 years old, you must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian to use Quillo, and that parent or guardian agrees to be bound by these terms on your behalf.
If you are a parent or guardian and you allow your child to use Quillo, you accept these terms and take responsibility for their activity within the app.
We may take steps to verify your age in connection with certain features, particularly where dietary or health-related data is involved.
Quillo gives you two ways to cook better. Scan any grocery receipt and the app reads your ingredients using AI-powered OCR and generates personalised recipe suggestions from exactly what you bought. Or search any recipe in the world, view full ingredients and instructions, and automatically build a shopping list of what you need to buy.
The more you use Quillo, the smarter it gets. Your dietary preferences, scan history, and saved recipes all contribute to a more personalised experience over time.
We're actively developing Quillo and we may add new features, change existing ones, or occasionally remove features that no longer make sense. We'll do our best to give you advance notice of any significant changes, but we cannot guarantee that there will never be an outage, interruption, or change to the services.
Quillo's AI-generated recipes and ingredient suggestions are provided for your convenience. They are generated by artificial intelligence and while we aim for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that every suggestion will be perfect. You should always use your own judgment — especially if you have food allergies or specific dietary requirements.
To use Quillo's full features you will need to create an account. You can register with an email address and password, or sign in with Apple or Google.
You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Use a strong password and do not share your login details with anyone. If you think your account has been compromised, let us know immediately at hello@quillo.co.uk.
You must always provide accurate information and keep it up to date. We may assume that any activity on your account was made by you.
If you get locked out of your account, we will need to verify your identity using the email address associated with your account. If you no longer have access to that email, we may not be able to restore your access.
You may not sell, transfer, or share access to your account with anyone else without our written permission.
When we say "your content" we mean everything you add to Quillo — receipt images, shopping lists you create, recipes you save, feedback you send us, and any other material you upload or submit.
You are responsible for the content you submit. By submitting content, you confirm you have the right to do so and that it does not violate any law or anyone else's rights.
Your content is yours. But by using Quillo, you grant us a limited licence to use your content for the purposes of providing, maintaining, and improving the service. This licence is worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, and limited to what is necessary to operate and develop Quillo.
We may remove content if we determine it violates these terms or any applicable law.
Our services include content that belongs to us — the app design, our branding, images, and written materials. You may use Quillo's software as described in these terms. You may not use our trademarks, brand, or other intellectual property without our written permission.
Quillo displays recipe content from third party providers including Spoonacular, Edamam, and BigOven. This content belongs to those providers and their original creators. We do not endorse or guarantee the accuracy of third party recipe content. You may not use third party content outside of Quillo without the consent of the original rights holder.
Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, and revocable licence to download and use the Quillo application on devices you own or control, solely for your personal non-commercial use.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicense the Quillo application or any part of it. You may not reverse engineer or decompile our software, or attempt to do so, without our written consent or unless applicable law permits it.
Quillo integrates with third party APIs and services to deliver features — including Spoonacular, Edamam, BigOven, Google AdMob, OneSignal, and Sentry. These services are operated by third parties and are subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third party services.
We respect intellectual property rights and we expect users of Quillo to do the same. If you believe content on Quillo infringes your copyright, please contact us at hello@quillo.co.uk with the subject line 'Copyright Notice'. Include a description of the copyrighted work, the location of the infringing content, your contact details, and a statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorised.
Recipe content displayed in Quillo is sourced from licensed third party providers or generated by AI. AI-generated recipes produced by Quillo are available for your personal use. Commercial use of AI-generated recipes requires our prior written consent.
You can use Quillo's core features for free. Free tier users have access to 3 receipt scans per day and will see advertising within the app.
Quillo Premium removes advertising, provides unlimited receipt scans, and unlocks additional features. Premium is available as a monthly or annual subscription. Current pricing is displayed in the app at the time of purchase and may vary by region.
Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Payment is charged to your linked payment method at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. We do not directly handle or store your payment card details.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep Premium access until then. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund for the current billing period except where required by law.
Refund eligibility is governed by the terms of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store through which you subscribed. Contact the relevant app store to request a refund. We will cooperate with legitimate refund requests processed through those stores.
When using Quillo, you must comply with these terms and all applicable laws. You must only use Quillo for lawful and acceptable purposes.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account immediately if we determine you have violated these restrictions.
Your privacy matters to us. Our Privacy Policy explains in full how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data. It is incorporated into these terms by reference and you should read it.
You have rights over your data including the right to access it, correct it, delete it, and object to how we process it. You can exercise these rights at any time through the app Settings or by contacting hello@quillo.co.uk.
You are free to stop using Quillo at any time and for any reason. To close your account, go to Settings → Account → Delete Account in the app. This permanently deletes your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription — you must cancel that separately through your App Store or Google Play account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to our services, with or without notice, for any of the following reasons:
Where reasonable and permitted by law, we will give you advance notice before terminating your account.
When your account is terminated, your licence to use Quillo ends immediately. You should delete the app from all your devices. Provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive termination will continue in effect, including Sections 7, 12, 13, and 14.
We work hard to make Quillo reliable, accurate, and genuinely useful. But we can't guarantee any minimum level of quality, and some things are outside our control — like the quality of your internet connection, the legibility of your receipt, or the accuracy of third party recipe data.
To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, Quillo is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranty of any kind. We do not make any express or implied warranties about the services, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Nothing in this section limits any rights you have as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable UK consumer protection law.
We don't exclude or limit our liability to you where it would be illegal to do so. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Most problems can be solved with a conversation. If you have an issue with Quillo or these terms, we ask that you contact us first at hello@quillo.co.uk and give us a chance to resolve it informally. We will try to respond within 14 days.
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. This does not affect any mandatory consumer protection rights you have under the law of the country where you live.
Subject to the consumer rights paragraph below, any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer in the European Union, the courts of your country of residence also have jurisdiction.
If we cannot resolve a complaint through informal discussion, you may refer the matter to an approved Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider. We are willing to use ADR as an alternative to court proceedings.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, or any other applicable UK consumer protection legislation. If you are unsure about your rights, you can contact the Citizens Advice Bureau at citizensadvice.org.uk or call 0808 223 1133.
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, cover the entire agreement between you and Quillo for your use of our services. They replace any prior agreements or understandings between us relating to Quillo.
Quillo uses AI to identify ingredients and generate recipes. We cannot guarantee that every allergen will be detected or flagged. If you have a serious food allergy, a medical condition, or strict dietary requirements, you must independently verify all recipe content before cooking. Please always follow standard food safety practices. We accept no liability for illness, injury, or adverse health events arising from the use of Quillo.
We may update these terms to reflect changes to our services, for legal or regulatory reasons, or to better protect our users. If changes materially affect your use of Quillo or your legal rights, we will give you at least 30 days' advance notice by email and through the app.
If you download Quillo from the Apple App Store or use it on an iOS device, these terms grant a non-transferable licence to use Quillo on Apple devices you own or control. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Quillo. Apple and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
We take security seriously. If you discover a security vulnerability in Quillo, please report it to us responsibly by emailing hello@quillo.co.uk with the subject line 'Security Report'. Do not publicly disclose any vulnerability until we have had a reasonable opportunity to address it.
If we do not enforce a provision of these terms at any given time, that does not mean we have waived our right to enforce it in the future. If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest of these terms continue in full effect. You may not assign your rights under these terms to anyone else.
